Optimal short-term water-energy dispatch for pumping stations with grid-connected photovoltaic self-generation

Increases in the energy costs of irrigation water pumping facilities puts economic sustainability recent investments modernization farms at risk. To address this problem, it is essential to apply renewable technologies for production electricity, and photovoltaic particularly attractive due its lower cost technological advances. The aim research develop a mathematical techno-economic dispatch model that optimizes hourly schedule equipment subject electrical hydraulic constraints minimize weekly operating real station. resulting formulated as mixed-integer nonlinear programming problem determines optimal combination available resources meet needs. proposed comprises fixed variable speed pumps, grid-connected plant, two ponds internal regulation storage. results verify self-consumption drives make possible maximize percentage self-consumed up 99.41% during month with highest demand water. In case, station reduces by 21.56%, addition improving management.
